VS Pro X5 will not install

After I insert Disc 1 for installation of VS Pro X5 and it installs, I"m asked to select Install Utilities. When I do I get window: "Adobe Flash Player Active X Setup installing". Then immediately another window on top of it, saying: "The version of Adobe Flash Player Active X that you are trying to install is not the most current version." (But I was not trying to install Adobe Flash Player, only Pro X5) The message continues: "Please visit <adobe.com/go/getflashplayer> to obtain the latest, most secure version." ( I already have installed on my computer Adobe Flash Player Active X 11.) But I do what it says and visit above Adobe site and download their latest version of Adobe Flash Player. (I understand that I also have latest version built into my Google Chrome.) OK! Having done this I now reinsert Disc 1 for installation of X5. But... when I reselect Install Utilities I get the
exact same 2 windows above about not having latest version. I went through this entire sequence several times to no avail. I cannot get pass install utilities. Thank you. Regards, MIke

Hi Mike

The X5 program needs adobe flash player.

Corel do not know that you have this installed and provide the files to install flash player via the utilities option.
The installer recognises that Flash is installed aborts the installation and recommends that you check you have the latest version, which you have.

The only file available from the Utilities is flash player.

You would be best to simply ignore the utilities installation, you should have no problems

The top option should be "Install Video Studio--Pro or UltimateX5"
It is this option that will / should install the program

Your answer was correct. I skipped "Install Utilities" and hit Exit. I was now able to load Disc 2 successfully. Thanks for your help. But... I now have new problem. The Light Effects FX and Audio Tools FX I just ordered and downloaded from New Blue won't install. Just before final install window I'm given choice of pathway. They already had checked Corel Vs 12 as a pathway so I uncheck it and added VS Pro 5. Then hit install... but installation window locks up and won't cancel or be removed. The same outcome with X4 as a pathway. So out of curiosty, I rechecked VS 12 and unchecked X4 and X5... and it installed immediately to VS 12. No problem. So what to do? Regards, Mike

Did you select the correct folder to install the plugin, i downloaded and installed the trial without problems, other than having to locate the correct folder to install to......

for the Audio Tools..........
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X5\aft_plug\VST

The folder showed 11 new entries after installing the file.
They all had the Modified date showing as 01\11\2010.
The filter was available from the Audio Filter option when using X5.

for the Light Effects..............

C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X5\vft_plug

I have not installed this as yet, the download seems very slow.......

Hi Trevor,

Thanks again. After playing with it I finally got all installed in X5... that is with one exception. The NB Stabilizer that I purchased separately and transferred from X4. To install on X5 I first downloaded their latest version. No problems! I then tried stabilizing a video clip and after it analyzed it, it turned off... I mean my video editing software disappeared and I was now looking at my desktop. This would happen as many times as I tried it with other clips. Strange! Any idea?

I do not have any purchased NB filters, all are provided with Video Studio, so cannot replicate the problem.

The only time video studio closed without warning or errors was after an Adobe Acrobat Reader update to V9, this was a while ago and has not occurred again. I have no idea why this happened and only affected a few users?
