PSP4X - an error has occured

Hello to everyone. I'm new to Corel and would appreciate some help please.
I've installed PSP4x and the problem I'm having is an error message when trying to edit my photos. The message I get is this "an error has occurred whilst trying to read from the file". I have spoken am speaking to Corel support. They have given me a list of things to do. The only way I can do any editing is if I uninstall/reinstall the software, whilst I'm in there no problem but the moment I exit and try to edit agin I get the above error message.
Please help.
