Capture mode
When I first used Video studio X5 everything worked perfectly, however when I reopened it the next day I couldn't change from edit to capture mode because I was asked "check that the video capture driver is working properly". Yes it was, because I could capture using Pinnacle studio 14. I deleted the program and checked for driver updates and installed those. When I reinstalled the program I could get into Capture mode but I did notice the provided "sample" thumbnails were there but no files for them!!. Of course when I closed the program and opened it later I had the same problem. Corel Support haven't come up with any answers so am looking for some one's learned advice. Help!!

Re: Capture mode
If your capture device is a Pinnacle one, then it can only capture with Pinnacle Studio. This might change now that Corel has bought out Pinnacle, but for the moment, that is the situation.

Re: Capture mode
In that case, I think the problem may be the Microsoft updated the Firewire driver in Windows 7, and VS has difficulties with the new driver. You can, however, fairly easily roll back the Firewire driver to a legacy one. Have a look at my post here for instructions on how to do it. It's pretty easy: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 43#p251543
