Band width?

Post by cbauer »

Hi, everyone,

I just recieved video studio 8 as part of the INSANTVIDEO MPX package. When I try to to get started I get a message window saying it can't enter capture mode, then a Windows balloon says my level of bandwidth has been exceeded.

I'm running windows xp pro on a dell, pentium III 833 with 256mg of ram and an 80 gig HD.

Help me Obi Won......you're my only hope..... :(

You are exceeding the USB bandwidth. The only way that could happen is if you only have a USB 1.1 port in your system, which is likely because it appears to be a couple of years old. To capture high-quality DVD-resolution video, you will need a USB 2.0 port to connect the capture device.

USB 2.0 cards are cheap, and you will have to get one of those. While you are on a buying spree, I would also get another 256MB of RAM for your system, UVS (and your system in general) will greatly benefit from that.
