Appologies for perhaps offtopic thread..but essentially it is to do with Videostudio. Honest.
In a nutshell - I want to upgrade my computer..I have around £300 to pump into this current machine..sadly not enough to buy / build a new one outright.
I know nothing about computers..RAMS etc and what little i thought i knew...time and again..i purchase one thing only to find theres something way better out there..always the way.
So - below are my current specifications....I want to know what i can do which will help me when i come to EDIT my HD videos using VSX5 AND making my videocovers. I need a printer as well.
I want to get a new Harddrive ...internal / external to keep all this HD footage together etc
More RAM?
Worth getting a better processor? easy to install? Need a fan??
Obviously a bluray burner out of the question..BUT would like to future proof the videos i make best way possible?
Best discs to use?

Re: Wanting the Best A Man Can Get ( within budget ) for VS
There's only you need to remember.. your new computer must meet or exceed the system requirements of VS X5 -- http://www.corel.com/corel/product/inde ... 60101#tab4
which are the following
rosoft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista® or Windows® XP with latest service packs installed (32-bit or 64-bit editions)
Intel® Core™ Duo 1.83 GHz, AMD Dual-Core 2.0 GHz (multi-core processor recommended)
2 GB RAM (4 GB or higher recommended)
128 MB VGA VRAM or higher (1 GB or higher recommended)
3 GB of free hard drive space
Minimum display resolution: 1024 x 768
Windows®-compatible sound card
Windows®-compatible DVD-ROM drive for installation
Recordable Blu-ray™ drive required for creating Blu-ray™ discs
-- If you don't want to be bothered into thinking about the configuration, I suggest that you show these specs to where you will be buying your new computer and tell them about your budget and they should be able to answer all your questions.
