I'm trying to create a photo slideshow DVD. I've used one of the instant project templates. Populated the placeholders and then dropped my photos into one of the video overlay tracks. I now want to increase the duration from 3s to 6s. I have tried doing so by dragging out the first clip to 6s and by double clicking and manually editing to 6s. The result is the same: I get 3s of random transition between that clip and the next.
What I want to do is create 6s photo clips with a transition between each clip. So, how do I increase the photo duration to be visible for 6s and how do I then drop a transition between all the clips? I don't want to add them manually as there are nearly 200 photos?

Hi
Go to Preferences F6
The edit tab allows you to set the default durations, Photo and transitions.
These will be applied when inserting images to the video timeline. Top Track
Images already inserted will remain as is.
Choose a transition effect
Do a quick test then adjust durations again, clear the timeline, then add images again.
-------------------------
Change Image Duration for clips in timeline.
You need the images in the top track.
1 / Click image to select and drag yellow trim handles.

Re: Photo Duration and Transitions
Firstly, many thanks for the quick response. I've changed the preferences to 6s and reloaded the photos. They can't go into the first video track because of the Instant Project. Not sure if that is an issue. So I've loaded them into track 3.
Without the Instant Project I was able to apply a transition to the whole video track. With the instant project, this option is greyed out. I have tried to shift-select the photos and apply a transition between all of them but this fails. Is there a way around it?

Re: Photo Duration and Transitions
Hi
I don't see any reason why the images cannot go in the top track.
Start a new project
Add the images to the top track, this will also add the transitions.
Are you using one or random transitions?
Play the project are the durations/timings suitable.
Now select an instant project, choose to add to beginning.
If required modify the last clip for instant project or first image, maybe adding a crossfade?
Replace the place holders.
If the Instant project is applied first, simply right click top timeline, Insert Photo
OR
From library select photos, (shift click to select all) right click and insert to Video Track

Re: Photo Duration and Transitions
Finally got it sorted. The problem was opening the instant project first. Clearly it set parameters for the rest of the project. I did as Iata said (thanks again) and then added the instant project and it worked fine. I'm pleased with the output.
Now time to do the video clips.
