I am trying to set up a Batch Print for a 7*5 page (analogous to the 8*10 Batch). I Duplicate the 8*10 and then used page settings to change the page size for a selected printer - to no effect. The change does not seem to be registered, and all my attempts to print on a 7*5 page have failed - I get various sizes of my image in various place on the 7*5 print.
Help - this is a stopper for me - if I cant set up various print requirements this app is not very useful.
Thank-you
System Mac OSX Mountain Lion, Epson printer on a USB port, printing a Raw image (I can print a 10*8 image on A4 paper)

Re: 7*5 page settings
At the risk of sounding stupid, are you sure the settings you changed are on the 7*5 batch?
When you make a duplicate of a batch, AS puts the duplicate at the end of the list.
More than once, I have then edited the original ....

Re: 7*5 page settings
Thank-you Dutchmm, but I did use the 7*5 copy - and I cannot set the default Page setting for the Epson - I change the setting and close the Print Settings dialog - reopen it and there is no change.

Re: 7*5 page settings
Then this looks like a bug, from a linux user's point of view. This doesn't happen to me. I can change my paper size, and the number of 7x5s on the sheet persists across an application restart. Time for the monkey, I think, unless a Mac user has an explanation.
You can send the bug report here.

Re: 7*5 page settings
I get the same problem on Linux (Ubuntu to a a remote Epson printer) - although the page setting dialogs are different. So I will wait to see if anyone else wishes to comment before raising a bug report.
Is there any difference between 'page setting' and 'paper size' (which is the term you used in your last post)?
I found your phrase 'number of 7x5s on the sheet persists ...' puzzling.
Thank-you for your comments

Re: 7*5 page settings
What I meant was this:
If I change the paper size on the 5*7 Qty 2 print queue, the number (Qty) of 5*7 prints that AS can fit onto one sheet changes. I was half expecting that - if I went out of AS and then restarted it - the original Qty and paper size would have been restored. This because I have seen other edits apparently "cancelled out" when I exited AS. In this case, the changes I made are still visible, and the new number of prints is as re-computed by AS.
I am intrigued that you say you got the same problem on Ubuntu - the Mint Lisa I am using is a derivative of the most recently replaced Ubuntu. All of margin changes, orientation, "one per page" option, and paper size are stored correctly. In my version (1.0.1.10) Paper Size is one of the Page Settings. As are the margin dimensions. The "one per page" and orientation, OTOH, are on the first page you get after clcking the 7*5 print output item.
What I don't understand is which Epson defaults you are finding unsettable in AS.

Re: 7*5 page settings
Hi Mike,
Let me start again, on the Mac.
It all started with my expectation that if I use a dialog to change a value in some data - I would expect to see that change when I next open that dialog on that data. How would you like to use a Text editor which would print your edits, but always started with a blank page!
With ASP if I open the Print Settings dialog on a Batch and change the Page Settings (and other things in the Print Layout), close the dialog and reopen the Print Settings dialog and look at the Page Settings they appear to have reverted to some A4 default. Most confusing - I would call it a bug - but perhaps there is a good reason.
I also found that If set up a Batch to print Portrait on 5x7, and use it to print a Landscape image - the result is that the print only covers the right hand inch or so.
So for 5x7 Page Size I set up two Batches, one for Portrait and one for Landscape. and I cannot mix portrait and Landscape in the same Batch, and I have to rely on the Batch name to tell me what the page setting is!
As a testl I printed a landscape 5*7 using my Landscape Batch and followed it by printing a Portrait using my Portrait Batch, the latter failed to print correctly - I restarted ASP, but still only a partial Portrait print, can a single printer have two or more different Page Settings in two or more Batch?
My conclusion is that whilst I can probably 'get it to work' the effort and uncertainty about what the settings are is so great that for me ASP is a not an option - a pity.
ASP on Linux is the same, as far as I can tell, however since my new Linux installation will not print for some reason I can't be sure.
Thank-you for listening, and for your helpful interest.
