Paint Shop Pro XI Wont Open

Post by MrLeN »

I have Paint Shop Pro XI running on Vista.

If I click to open it, all I get is a spinning cursor for a few seconds, and then nothing.

The program doesn't even show in the task manager.

So, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Then it worked (until I next rebooted my computer).

Now it wont work again.

I looked up "Paint Shop Pro wont open" on Google, and I found where someone said add Paint Shop Pro to the allow list on the firewall, in case it is blocked. I added to the allow list, but it still wont open.

I don't know why it wont open.

Trevor, please don't delete my post O_o

Hi MrLen

Welcome to the forums

and no I wont delete you this time........

I don't use PSP that much but am aware of some restores that may help.
I did a search of the Corel Knowledge Base

There is an option to restore data base

Click Start > Click All Programs > Click the folder Corel Paintshop Pro X4 > Click Restore Database
Yes I realise it refers to X4 but the process may be the same for XI

-----------------------------
You may want to reset your workspace. You can do that by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key then double-click on the PSP icon then when you received the message "DO YOU WAN TO RESTORE PAINTSHOP Pro TO ITS DEFAULT STATE?" just click OK.

Again i assume it works for XI
