I'm trying Capture One Pro. Not as easy as ASP, and less efficient: You only have a pencil to make local adjusments, no curves, and at that time I di'nt find how to copy or erase in places...But I consider only pictures - developpment, I don't use catalogues..
Fot that Use, ASP remains the best

Yes I use Capture Pro as well. It is very good. The tools are different and take some learning. Take a look at the videos on their website. They are very helpful.albernier wrote:I'm trying Capture One Pro. If you want asset management then you need to get MediaPro.
Still learning after all these years!

I found SilkyPix pretty good in terms of IQ when I evaluated it last year.marcof wrote:And I've touched Silkypix Studio a looong time ago. Just checked and it still is in good development. But since it's a japanese product, I guess communication with support might be difficult in the end..
There are IMO some drawbacks though:
- the translation from Japanese to English (both for the help files as well as for the menu and functions) is far from perfect, sometimes it kept me wondering what the writer wanted to say.
- the pricing is pretty high, close to 300 Euro for a single license
- in my understanding you need a license for each installation, so if you want to install on a desktop (for the serious work) and a laptop (for on the road) it will cost you almost 600 Euro. Most other software allow you multiple installations as long as only one of these installations is used at a time.
Enjoy!

Re: Is Aftershot dead?
I also tested Capture one. While the output quality was great (its claim to fame after all), getting there was painful. I used up the entire trial period and never really got comfortable with the tools. Too much time in the Bibble/AfterShot mindset I guess. Another thing that bugged me was it creates a subdirectory & bunches of working files that get left behind; even though I mainly use IMatch for file management, I don't care for that much clutter being generated.
Bibble transplant

No, according to their info, a license is valid for 2 seats. And Win/Mac is same license as well. But yeah, the price is a bit steep for the latest version.herman wrote: - in my understanding you need a license for each installation, so if you want to install on a desktop (for the serious work) and a laptop (for on the road) it will cost you almost 600 Euro. I can confirm that you get two 'active' installations for a single seat purchase. If you want to install on multiple computers you can but you can have only two activated at any one time but you can constantly shuffle machines.marcof wrote:No, according to their info, a license is valid for 2 seats. I got my copy of Capture Pro for €199/£169 which is very good. It works on Windows or Mac, shame there is no Linux version.
They also do a 5 seat pack for something like €600.

That would be terrible. Then I have to find a different software. Let's wait. All right, things are clear now : the Austin team is fired and the Linux version will certainly be abandoned...
