folders will not open pics in X4

Post by cldphotos »

I have PSP x4 and recently I am getting no images found. The folder shows up in PSP but when I click on it, it says no images found. It is happening on all my recent downloaded images and a few random folders from a while back. It also is stuck on updating cache settings for about 3 minutes when I am opening the program, it started doing this and the folder issue at the same time. Need help please!!!!

More details please. Are you opening and looking for images in a folder in the Manage mode or the Edit mode. What type of images ? Are they jpegs?
Set up a test folder on your desktop and put some jpeg images in there and check if they can be seen. Can you see any images in any folders?

What happens if you have a folder of images on your desktop and open it under windows then open X4 edit mode , back to the explorer window and drag and drop and image into the edit space?

Some of these steps may help identify if it is a major problem with PSP not recognising any images, or some particular forms of images.
Did it work properly before? And what did you install uninstall when it failed. Some screen shots may help as well.

A couple of steps that you can take to fix this, first reset the workspace.

You can do that by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key then double-click on the PSP icon then when you received the message "DO YOU WAN TO RESTORE PAINTSHOP Pro TO ITS DEFAULT STATE?" just click OK.

Second, delete or rename the PSP X4 database file: ImageDB.db.
On Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems:
Click on Start button and then highlight the "Start Search" field
Type in: %userprofile%/AppData/Local and push Enter on keyboard
Double-click on the Corel folder.
Delete* the ImageDB.db file and then close this window.

You should now be able to successfully run Paint Shop Pro Photo.
*NOTE: if you receive a message that the file cannot be deleted or is in use, Restart the computer, then immediately try deleting the file. It should delete fine after a restart.
