Hi
Sorry I was not trying to "teach grandma how to suck eggs"

The point being that some users had quality issues depending on how they transferred the video, as you have tried both options we can rule that out.

Thanks for the samples, a am running a series of renders to see what problems I have.

What problems with Jpegs, are these the same as the video?

Hi,
The problem is rendering the mts files with the same attributes as the clips (or using the mpeg optimizer). The problems I'm writing about are the symptoms (in my view).
clip a1 was created with mts files and Jpegs at the end - the last jpeg is a vertical still image. When trying to put clip a1 in the timeline and adding clip a2 right after (w/o transition effect) and rendering the project with the mpeg optimizer, the result, running in Windows Media Player (win 7 64 bit), is a "condensed" view of clip a2 when it is its time to appear. The workaround was to re-render clip a1. I'm not sure where the problem resides, either in clip a1 or clip a2 (I didn't try to put another clip instead of a2, since I was already that frustrated), but if re-rendering clip a1 fixed the issue, than I suppose it had the problem.

Again, when rendering to BR, 1920x1080, NO H.264 , there are no blips (at least not that I found). The downside to that method is tripling the files volume.
Thanks,
Doron

It would really help if you were to create a "smart Pacage" and make it available so that other users can test it using exactly your settings.

Hi

A Smart Package would be best, i did ask for one in an earlier post, this would include copies all clips used in your project.
It would also include the VSP where we can see exactly what edits you are using.
We would be able to render the same things, like for like, giving an accurate comparison.
Since you uploaded the video files we can use them. If you create a project using those files then all we need is the VSP file to compare what you are doing.

I have run quite a few render tests, I will upload the final video and the associated VSP 4shared.

---------------------------------
Working with the samples provided 00006.MTS to000026.MTS, six video files in total I first batch converted to DV-Avi.
No problems

I created a project using the sample clips.
I then proceeded to render to various stages of edits, always using Share Create Video File Same as First Video

1 / No edits showed ok

2 / Add "Side Roll" transition and the transitions showed out of sync, getting progressively worse.
Didn't understand why........Interestingly the total frames were the same.
but
Rendered again with Smart Render disabled, no problems, transitions in sync.

3 / original + Side roll + pan and Zoom. Again no Smart Render, no problems

4 / Final Edit, this combines pan & zoom, transitions, cut clips removing sections, remove clips from ends, most standard things I could think of to be honest.
The video views as ok, lip sync, I think is ok given that I do not speak the language.

I will uploaded the sample to 4 Shared along with the project file, you should be able to open this in X5, you will have to relink to the 6.MTS sample files etc.
Render the project to Same as First Video, compare your video to the one I provide? When its finished rendering that is..............

Hi,
Didn't tested your work yet, but here is the smart package for the first 25 seconds of the project which clip a4 was created from:

http://www.4shared.com/zip/942oVWnY/test1.html

rendering it with "share"->"create file"->"mpeg optimizer" results with wrong frames in timestamp 00:00:08:17 (for an example)

Hi

I do not have much time to view your project as i am on vacation from tomorrow.

I have downloaded the clips and VSP, however the project is only 27 seconds duration having 9 --3 second clips.
The a4.M2T video is 3 min 39 sec 3 frames.

Are you sure you provided the correct project file?

Hi,
As I wrote - the smart package contains the clips for the first 25 seconds of a4. No way I could have uploaded all the clips that a4 was created from, since it would mean more than 50GB of files.
The result, however, stays the same - wrong frames on timestamp 00:00:08:17 when rendering with the mpeg optimizer.

I'm in no hurry.

Enjoy your vacation.

Hi

Intrigued as to what the 00:00:08:17 frame would show i rendered the project all 27 seconds using the Optimiser option.

I compared the project to the rendered file by inserting the new video to the overlay track.

Now I don't see any difference, the scene changes are accurate, I do not see any frames out of order or any duplicated frames, maybe I am looking for the wrong thing?

I have saved the project to a new VSP and uploaded to 4Shared along with the new video file.

Trevor,
I don't know what is happening.
I've download your rendered video and I can clearly see the wrong frames in timestamp 8:17.
I'm attaching a link to a screen recording of your video in VS timeline and you can clearly see the two frames that don't belong there (and at least I know I'm not hallucinating)

http://www.4shared.com/video/lU-Ap7mA/Screen.html

I'll download your clip to another PC tomorrow and check it there.

Doron.

Dowloaded the rendered video to two other PCs with VS x4 and VS x5 installed on them. Both PCs shows the wrong frames at timestamp 8:17 with both VSs.

I can also see the wrong frames but at the the timestamp of 08:20. I have also rendered your project using the "optimizer" and "same as first clip" setting anf gt te wrong frames at he 08:20 locations.

When I render to BR settings there are no wrong frames and the file size is a bit larger.

What is your final destination of your project: a file, a DVD or a BR disc?

Are you using PAL or NTSC? Mine is PAL so there are 25 frames per second. There are two wrong frames at 8:17 and 8:18.

The "destination" for that project was another project in which I used that clip (in order to create a "Dallas"-like opening theme), so that jittering was very disturbing.

I wanted to create an HD video. Since the blips don't show up in BR format, I had to render to entire video to BR format, which resulted in a file thrice as large as it should have been (which effected uploading, downloading, saving on portable media and even burning to DVD discs - again, it was not a "bit" larger but almost three times the size)

Well, I'm "glad" to know I'm not the only one who sees the problem. Now there is a need to figure out what is wrong: is it the clips files (and/or my camcorder) or VS.

I am in NTSC region but I think that should not matter when I examine your rendered clip.

I certainly do not get a files 3x larger (only about 40% larger) but that may depend on the different settings we are using.

I do not think it is your clips since I cannot see the problems in them when I examine them in VS.

Hi

The sample you provided has been rendered to 30 fps, this has effectively added 5 frames per second to the video changing the 25fps to 30 fps.

Pal and Ntsc are important in that the viewer has to set the project properties to match.
If you view in a Pal video in Ntsc project then the frames will be in a different order/range?
-----------------------

I am missing something here?????????????

Are you able to take a screen shot of the frames 08:13--08:14--and 08:15

----------------

Using the video I provided, add a title to these frames, render to same as first video
