PSPX install issues w/new PC & card

Post by nanrector »

Hello!

I have a new PC with Windows 7 Home and a new graphics card: AMD Radeon HD7770. (My old PC runs PSP 10.1 great. It's a Windows 7 Ultimate with this card: ATI Radeon HD 4850)

I could not install PSP without disabling the driver for my new card. I then re-enabled it but when I try to run PSP it hangs at the open screen. If I disable the new card drivers again it will open. But not with my drivers installed. Is there a way I can correct this so it runs with my new card?

Like I said my other WIn 7 machine runs PSP 10.1 fine. I've tried installed the patches on this new machine to see if that helps but I get this message even when I disable the card driver again:
the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program . verify that the program to be upgraded existis on you computer and that you have the correct update patch.
Thanks so much!
Nancy

The problem is that PSP X is too old for your video card and Windows 7, remember PaintShop Pro was released on 2005 September that was 5 years before Windows 7 was available worldwide.

ou can visit http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 4516325170, to know which version of the Corel Software is compatible with Windows 7.

There is a workaround for you to make old program works on Windows 7, however we cannot assure you this is a 100% fool proof. You can use the Windows 7 Program Compatibility and the Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC, which are both from Microsoft.

You can follow the steps for Windows 7 Program Compatibility from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... of-Windows

You can download and install the Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtua ... nload.aspx.

You may also want to try PSP X4 which is fully compatible with the latest hardware and OS. You can visit http://pnoy.me/coreltrials to download the trial.
