combining clips

Post by lobbiesforme »

Hello, I transferred from 8mm film to video and am now editing them in VideoStudio4. I have a bunch of clips that are now edited in my timeline and I want to merge (combine) them so I can add music with the appropriate length for the three clips combined. Is there a way to merge the three clips into one?

Click on the Share tab at the top of screen, then select 'Create Video File'. A drop down menu will appear offering a variety of formats. Which one you choose will depend on what you intend to do with the video e.g. if you intend to burn a DVD, then you would choose DVD/mpeg2 as the output format.

hi Ken:

thanks for responding. but another question; my current project has about 45 clips in varying sizes. and i'm wondering if I can take say 6 of them (that are in succession), and combine them into one clip that is, say, 48 seconds. Then, I could add a music track of 48 seconds to the one clip which was previously 6 clips. is that possible?

thanks.

Personally, I would save the current project using a different name. Then simply delete all the clips you don't want. Then use the Share method outlined above to convert the 6 clips into a new clip to which you could then add the music.

Your original project can still be opened under its original name, though it will still have the 6 original clips in it. But it would then be easy to delete them and substitute them with the newly created clip with music, if that is what you want.
