HOPING FOR A GOOD CROP

Post by garjobo »

Keeping it simple, hopefully someone will help us out..

I want to insert a photo into PImpact12. How can i ensure the best quality possible when i come to print.

I have some words on a poster and basically want to insert a photo. I use work printer not having one myself..so hard to judge straight away the quality. Just want to know, when i 'insert' / crop my photo any setting to make sure i get the best quality.

My image is of a envelope ( sounds boring i know! ) ..so its white with an address on, using a decent spec camera..just doesnt look that great when i printed it off today. Trying to give it another go...and failing. I have my page, added some text...then..i 'insert' a photo..which comes in massive! so i bring it down...and down..and down...then crop the envelope, copy and paste it back into my page with text.

thanks for any replies...at a loose end here.

It really comes down to the resolution - pixels per inch of the whole image you are creating.
What ppi did you choose to make your image? Remember, the higher the resolution, the larger the image.

Usually a good quality photograph is required initially.

How are you reducing?

What size output are you wanting?

If I am doing a good quality image or graphic I always use 300 ppi.
