I videotaped a performance by a local theater group recently. For the most part, the video is great. However, performers coming all the way downstage (closest to the audience) around centerstage tend to lose all facial color (skin totally white), and some costumes (primarily orange) show bright white flaring. These all fade to normal when the actors move further upstage. I've tried applying different filters, changing brightness and contrast, and so forth, without finding a way to improve these problems noticeably. Any suggestions?
