Plug-ins limitation?

Post by Joelle »

Is there a finite number of plugins that can be installed with PSPX4?
Does anyone know?

I vaguely remember that you can install so many and no more, but might be wrong there.
I can't find any reference to this in the X4 help files, or with Google.

I don't use many plug-ins myself, so can't test it.
A poster in the Corel Newgroups is querying this.

Thanks in advance :-)

I've never come across a limit so far. As I add more filters the Folders Increase to hold them as each one fills up.
I did my own Research and testing last year on my computers using PSPX, PSPX3 and PSPX4 on my Desktop and my Laptop in regards how the Folder List works as I was curious.

I found that each folder holds the number of filters that cover the height of my screen.
Hence on my Desktop 24 inch Monitor which is 12.75 inches high the filter list in Folders 1 and 2 go from the top of the screen area down to the top of the Taskbar and in Folder 3 it was only partway as that finished the list. In X4 it then had a scroll bar to check the last 4 that would have covered the Taskbar. In PSPX the list stops at the taskbar and doesn't have the extra scroll but ends at the same filter hence they must be closer together in X than X4. In X3 the list was the same as PSPX, again ending at the top of the Taskbar with the same filter so that list must also be a little closer together than X4. In all versions there were 51 filters held in each full folder which corresponds to my screen height.

Following the same principle on my 12 inch Laptop which has a much smaller screen height the filter list goes from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen and as I have no bottom Taskbar there is no bottom scroll to access any extra in X4 as on my Desktop. All 3 PSP versions ended with the same filter in each folder. Because each Folder is holding less filters on my Laptop [ there were 33 filters ] than my Desktop [ 51 ] due to screen height there are more Folders in the Effects List on Laptop than on my Desktop, although overall there are the same number of filters on both computers......Patricia
