Audio View - where is it

Post by janjatul »

After staying away from video editing for some time I have just installed VS X5.
But here I can't find the Audio View in which I could adjust the sound volume (using the graph) in the video track. Has it gone away or is it just that I can't find it? It does not appear in the help either.
Does this mean that I have to split the audio from the video to be able to adjust the volume (up and down at various places, not just the track volume).
Hopefully it is just that I don't find the button.
Thanks for your advice.

Hi Jan

The Sound Mixer Icon is located below the preview screen, second icon from the right.
(looks like a wave-form symbol) Its location may have changed to that of older versions.

However there are sound level controls adjacent to the digital clock, double click the clip in the timeline, select the video tab, !00% level--Mute--Fade in /Out ramps

You can always use the scissors to cut the video into sections to apply levels to shorter clips.

Thanks Trevor for your quick and excellent reply.

I just didn't figure that the audio view was now accessed by the sound Mixer button.
So all is well!
