Motion Frequency for Picture in Picture feature

Post by archlegend2009 »

Hi all,

I am new to this forum, trying not to break any rules here.

Problem: I often encounter the low motion frequency when playing back "Picture in Picture" scene (which I mean the pictures aren't moving smoothly whenever using that feature) after I render my video into various formats, such as WMV HD PAL. Is there any way to increase its smoothness?

Am using VS Pro X5, Service pack 1, will greatly appreciate if there's any suggestion for it. Thank you.

Hi

welcome to the forums

What types of video are you using, are they from the library, the programs samples?
If so which ones?
You mention WMV HD Pal, so I assume the program has been installed using pal.

Right click the video clip and select properties. what are they?

Thanks for the response. Basically I am using just an ordinary PNG image, trying to animate it by using 'Picture in Picture' feature. However, as I try to move it faster (for example moving the image from right to left side in 2 seconds), it turns out to be not smooth. There are a few experiments I have tried before:

1) I render it into WMV HD PAL (that is the default settings by VS pro X5 i found) with 1280 x 720, Data Rate: 456kbps, total bitrate: 589kbps, Frame rate: 25fps, it's not smooth while the image is moving rapidly.
2) If i render it into .m2t (by clicking AVCHD in Share --> Create Video File --> AVCHD) with 1920 x 1080, Data Rate:5912 kbps, total bitrate: 6168kbps, Frame rate: 25fps, it's much smoother. But when I upload to Youtube, it turns back to not smooth.

Other part of the video goes normal, but not for anything dealing with "Picture in Picture" feature. My final output has to be displayed on Youtube, so I have to maximize the motion smoothness, or else it's going to look awful. Would be glad if any suggestion to mitigate this miserable problem of mine. Thank you!

Hi
How are you applying the filter.?

Place the PNG in the overlay track
Right click preview screen and choose fit to screen, repeat and choose keep aspect ratio.

Apply Picture in Picture

You may also need to use Chrome Key - "apply frame" to remove the borders?
