Trimming movie does not reduce its' size

Post by MRMATT »

HIi,

Hope you can help.\
Have Movie Maker 6
Have a movie on my computer which I want to put on a DVD
The movie is almost 3 hours long.
I tired to break it up for 2 dvds by using mulitrim (start/end to select the segments I want to keep), I selected 0 min to 1.5 hours, then hit oK.
which takes me back to the main screen, and at the bottom I still see I am in the "red" in that I do not have the room on my disc

When I look at the movie screen the blue -indicator length- bar is only half the available length ( indicating my selected segment) but if I move the jog bar past my slelected segment ( end of the blue bar) the movie continues for its entire 3 hr length.

The segment I selected was not pulled out of the movie.
I want to select the first 1.5hr segment ( for my 1st dvd) and delete the rest - then go back to my movie source file, segment out the last 1.5 hrs ( for the 2nd dvd) and delete the first portion as I no longer need it.

What is going wrong? I think I should be able to do this...

Thanks so much

Matt

Sorry, but can you first confirm that you are using Movie Factory, which is a Corel product. But you said you are using Movie Maker 6, which is a products from Microsoft which works in Windows 7. If you really have the latter, then you are in the wrong forum. You need to find a Windows 7/Movie Maker one...
