Problem with aspect ratio loading to youtube VSProX5

Post by marklug »

I have been editing some video with X5, several in fact, and keep running into a problem where the 5 minute video is only showing about the last 15-30 seconds of footage with the full length audio. It only shows the video length, but the audio continues after the last part of the video runs out. Youtube keeps telling me it is a problem with aspect ratio. I am using avchd, but using the "youtube" mp4 conversion feature in the share menu...so I think it ought to work.

Each time I load it up it seems different...but marginally different.

I did do the following:
Re-edited an old video that was slightly longer, and used new footage...to save time because the "templates" for the beginning intro and end were in place. I have tried to save and resave it different ways. I even imported the rendered mp4 video itself and rendered it as a new video.

Same thing keeps happening.
Please help...my job and my 1st of the month bills are on the line ( I work under a contract agreement). The videos are simple how to videos, from 5-15 minutes in length. I've had some issues with this before, and at other times it all loads well.

Hi

Can you give details of your original video file.?
Right click a clip and select properties what are they.?

You may be best to convert the project to a new video file using the original video files properties.
Then use that to convert to the You Tube properties you wish to use. Share - Upload to You Tube should be suitable.
I simply close the upload, check the quality, then upload via my own account.

Using the old video, render this to DV, then convert for you tube.

Take care with the Field Order, Ultimately it will use Frame Based for internet use.

I am not so happy with (mp4 converted) DV (Pal) uploads used by VS. The frame mode is done by field doubling, not only resulting in reduced vertical resolution, but also strong aliasing can appear. My original/downloadable electronic test pattern http://wtrns.fr/4CaX2KdqExadwg clearly shows the effects when uploaded to YT after VS conversion. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72EDeDWxaJ8
The same test pattern results in a much better YT video when e.g. using WinXHD, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zcw4vJ4weCk
_or “Super”. See

Hi Erdna

marklug is having problems with the video not playing correctly or aspect ratio, I guess quality will also be an issue..............

Thanks for the quality sample.

Using Share Upload to web 4:3 reduces the frame size to 640 x 480. I used Make Movie Manager to create my templates, however the Mpeg4 option is limited.
Using Quicktime-Mpeg4 allows for user defined frame sizes.

I ran a few tests, will repeat them given time, with Div X doing well, Rendering to DV gave the best quality but you would expect that.

I viewed the videos using VCL Player, Video Studios views were poor even viewing the original.
The vertical scale clearly shows the increments, but not in VS?

Indeed Trevor, not an answer to Marklug's problem. I was maybe triggered by the frame mode issues which I experienced in the past with YT uploads.
Marlug: your only 15 sec lasting video is this after or before YT upload? Have these video's been uploaded anyway ?

I am creating videos using an avchd camera, combined with some soundtrack and a few mixed in photos or graphics in png. The videos are getting loaded as I said, with the audio and video out of sync but length is cut to only a few seconds out of the original 5-10 minute videos. Usually the beginning of the audio and the end of the video. I thought at first it was because I was reediting an old video, so I edited a new one from scratch completely today, and it is doing same thing. The last one, I had to import the whole saved mpg4 rendered video into the sound track and re render it as a completed video again, and then it would upload. This is getting very frustrating...

Another bit of information, when rendering it gets up to 40 or 50 something percent slowly as expected, then suddenly it's done...

So you have uploaded one video. Can You tell give the YT URL where the uploaded video can be found?

Sure, here it is. This is the one that I eventually uploaded by reimporting it and re rendering it.

Just tried to do same thing with the new video I have that I did with the video that I posted, but this time aspect ratio came up again. One question, should it be in lower, upper or frame based? Not sure what that is, but it was in upper.
This is a JVC HD AVCHD Everio full HD.

Hi

Can you provide the full properties of the video clip.
Right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they?
(The details may also show the Frame Order)
Using Alt+PrtSc will copy the window to your clipboard. Use an Image editor to paste the details to save as a new image, attach image to your post.

Did the camera come with any software, if yes did you install this software?, This may install the correct codecs on your pc.

Otherwise can you make a sample video file available for download, maybe using "4Shared"
