Corel Product Versions

Post by missysbubbie »

I lived in India until 1997. Coming back to America I used my sons computer to scan our photos. He had Corel, but I knew nothing of computers at that time and don't know what version of Corel he had. I tried downloading the sample of Corel 6 recently but it will not recognize the files. I desperately want these photos and would be willing to pay someone to convert themk for me.

Hello,

It would help if you could tell us what the format of these pictures is - what is the extension after the file name - is it perhaps .ufo

Your reference to Corel 6 also suggest you have downloaded a one of the Draw programmes which is primarily for graphics - you would be better trying Paintshop Pro X4 for working with photographs.

Once we know the format people will know what programme is required to open and convert them for you.

In fact, it would be useful if you could give a bit more information about exactly which program you are talking about: Corel 6 could cover a wide variety of programs under the Corel label... What appears on the spalsh screen when you start up the program by way of a name?

The files have a .cpt extension. I downloaded the trial version of Corel Photo Paint x6. Here is a sample of one of the files.
Whoops..maybe this board does not allow attachments.

plashI only downloaded the trial version so I cannot give you the information from the splash screen. OK I downloaded it again and the splash screen has a hot air balloon and "Corel Photo Paint x6 2012"

Unfortunately, PhotoPaint is part of the CorelDRAW suite, and is not covered on this web board. But you should be able to find some help on the CorelDRAW forums: http://coreldraw.com/forums/
