How can you batch edit IPTC Creator et al?

Post by magnoliasouth »

I am a new x4 user, but an old PSP8 user (since it was released). One thing that I cannot figure out here is how to edit the IPTC information in one fell swoop. I have over a thousand photos I took in California and am obviously the creator for. When I selected all and went to put my name in, it rudely refused to allow it.

Really? WHY?!

That makes no sense and is very frustrating. I tried looking into the Batch process function, but if there is a way to do it there I cannot figure out how. Same thing for the Capture edit function.

I tried looking in help and while I am on that subject I must say that I hate the 'new' help. Not EVERYONE has internet access all the time. Help should never rely on internet access only; bad idea all the way around. Anyway, I cannot find a way to batch edit via help either.

So, please tell me how I can do this. I just know that there must be a way because not to allow it at all would simply be asinine and surely the developers know this.

Many thanks in advance.

After a quick search on batch process of IPTC data I found that Bridge was suggested as doing it for photoshop users. ACDC Pro was another program that could do it and also some information on this page:

In paintshop pro it may be possible to write a script or this action, but I am not sure. Levifiction will have a better idea about that.
