I was trying to "download" photos from a long weekend photo shoot.
Photo count on card - 637.
Photo count in ASP after download - 487.
ASP would not download 150
The missing photos were several over each day of shooting with no discernable reason.
Thinking it was catalog I went to the folders and counted.
Folders on HDD did not have all the photos the card had.
I tried using Microsoft Windows Downloader on my flash card, count on HDD matched card photo count.
I tried ASP several times and ASP refused to download all the photos.
Monkey time

Download or download & import? If download & import, can you check a download only?
How do you download exactly?
(Qeue definition, starting point for the download)?
How are the images structured on the card (one ore more directories)?
Any discernible difference between the 150 and the rest?
cheers

"The missing photos were several over each day of shooting with no discernable reason."
Does this mean that they were totally random files with no sequential order?

That is exactly right. I simply could not figure out a pattern...ormdig wrote:"The missing photos were several over each day of shooting with no discernable reason."
Does this mean that they were totally random files with no sequential order?
File structure: Typical Canon with two folders 100 & 101
Download and import, but read my post carefully I went directly (OS) to the involved folders and the photos were missing. In other words the download failed. The catalog matched exactly what was downloaded and the download was imcomplete.
I had suspected that ASP was missing photos previously so I counted on this batch. I had always thought that it was the catalog but it was definately ASP Download. Also when I went into the ASP File System Tab ASP had the corect count on the Data card.
Bottom Line:
ASP File System saw the correct number of photos on the data card in the File System tab (and could display all of them)
ASP would not download the pics accurately missing some files with no discernable repetition.
ASP Catalog accurately showed the correct number of pics downloaded (though the download was inaccurate).

Sorry, that is inconclusive.kaymann wrote:Download and import, but read my post carefully I went directly (OS) to the involved folders and the photos were missing. In other words the download failed. The catalog matched exactly what was downloaded and the download was imcomplete.
It is not clear whether the download failed because of the queue or because of the attempt to import. You can't accurately infer that.
That's why I asked what happens when you run a plain download.
One thing that I forgot to ask, what does the log say about this?
It mentions all files it scans....
Do you have the full list or the reduced list in there?
cheers

Re: ASP Download MIssed 150 Photos
Download or import either way I depended on ASP to get Photos from the Flash card and put them on my hard drive. ASP did not and I was luckly I caught it. I suspected this has happened before and so I was very careful this time. Otherwise I would have formated the flash card and lost the missed photos. I will check the log but it involves hundreds of photos....
