COREL DRAW 12 & Windows 7

Post by TheoV »

Hi to all
I wonder if you can help me understand my problem, and maybe help me find a solution?

I have Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)installed on my PC, as well as Corel Draw 12.

AND COREL works 100% on this installation! (Although everyone tells me that Draw 12 wasnt developed for Win 7 (64-bit)!!)

BUT!! On a Dell laptop with Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit) it opens all old files, you can create new files, BUT I CANNOT IMPORT JPG's into a file!

The program then bombs out, with an error saying it has stopped working!

The jpg's is not bigger than 250kb!

YOUR HELP AND EXPLANATIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

CorelDraw 12 is not compatible with Windows 7, you can visit http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 4516325170, to know which version of the Corel Software is compatible with Windows 7.

There is a workaround for you to make old program works on Windows 7, however I cannot assure if this will work for you, you can use the Windows 7 Program Compatibility and the Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC, which are both from Microsoft.

You can follow the steps for Windows 7 Program Compatibility from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... of-Windows

You can download and install the Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtua ... nload.aspx.

I would recommend that you try the latest version of CorelDraw which is CorelDraw X6 which is full compatible with Windows 7. You can download the trial at http://pnoy.me/coreltrials
