X4 - Autosave in Adjust workspace?
Is this the only place now? I thought it was available in Edit mode. What about all the people (and there are a lot of us) who only use Edit mode? Surely it was available in before the last service pack? Does anyone who has not installed SP2 know? We have this in all previous versions of PSP that I have used; don't know why it would be taken away now.

Re: X4 - Autosave in Adjust workspace?
I did a check of autosave in X3 and managed to find out how and why it worked.
As far as I can see it is useful only if your computer is prone to crashing often or hanging or freezing.
To have the program automatically save your image every 1 ... x minutes to me is ridiculous. I choose when to save and save it as a psp image if I want to work further on it. That way I can even transfer the image file to another computer / flash drive etc and work on another computer. If my main computer drive truly crashes and it has to be reformatted no amount of autosave will fix that.
Perhaps it is better to isolate what causes your computer to crash and eliminate that.
It may be that corel has decided to make Autosave only available in the Adjust workspace (which is a watered own version of the Edit workspace) because people that go straight to edit mode and use that exclusively already have good working practises - never work on an original image, Save as psp after any complex operations, save on an external drive or a secondary drive rather than your main C drive. Should the C drive which is used by the system and has the most wear crash and have to be replaced then a minimum of loss occurs.
I have never had to usae Aiuto preserve or Autosave and would rather have them removed in favour of a streamlined Edit workspace.

Re: X4 - Autosave in Adjust workspace?
Thanks for your comments; it's PSP itself not my computer that crashes. I do save often but apparently not often enough. And not working on the original image does not apply to me because I am not editing photos, I'm creating an original image. It's just irritating that Corel keeps changing things in the program to work in a different manner from what people who have used the program for years have become accustomed to. Change is not always good, especially when there is no logical reason to change something. And X4 has quite a few functions that no longer work the same way. I guess I'm just venting because you expect a newer version of a favorite program to be an improved one, which has not been the case with PSP. New features here come at the expense of the old ones.
