I am a new user of Corel Videostudio pro x5 and gradually getting to grips with the functionality, however I have come to a dead end on one issue. I have edited a video ready for sharing and have gone to create a disc with a menu. I did not want any of the existing menu template so managed to create my own using a photograph as background and adding text I have managed to edit the text to change font etc but when it comes to the navigation buttons I cannot seem to be able to edit the properties. When using customise I can choose the different styles of button but cannot change the colour of the buttons to suit my template colour scheme. For some reason whenever I run a preview the play button always turns out to be pale blue colour. Currently on the create disc function I am selecting DVD for testing purposes instead of burning expensive Blue Ray discs however when finished I will want to burn blue ray discs.
Sorry for the multiple paragraphs but can enyone help out this novice.

Re: Changing colours of navigation button in menu template
When you are using the 'customise > navigation buttons' function do you not see different coloured buttons down there. try using the scroll bar at the very bottom of that window to move across to the right end of the selection - I have a number of different colours there - see my screen shot below.
And just a note of warning - the functions for DVD and Blu-ray menus are not all the same - something you do in DVD might not be available in the blu-ray menus.

Re: Changing colours of navigation button in menu template
Brian, thanks for the reply. Yes I do have the different cloured button at the bottom of the screen when in customise mode, which is how I got the original colour (gray) for the buttons the firstt time round, I then inadvertently changed something and lost the origianl colour. However if for instance I choose say green from the selection acros the bottom the buttons turn green in the template however when I run preview the green disappears and the button turns back to pale blue as it runs through the preview. In terms for changing the colour I have never gone further than the preview maybe if I try burning a disc it would stay at the colour I have selected.

Brain was trying to put a screen shot into my message text like you have done, how do you do it? was trying copy and paste from the screen shot created in windows 7 snipping tool but that did not work.

Re: Changing colours of navigation button in menu template
Hi
There may be a little confusion, the buttons used will have two colours, the second colour shows the selected icon.
Only the required icons will show, so if you add several clips then the Next and Previous -- Play and Home buttons will show, all will be the same colour except the selected icon which will change colour to identify it as being selected.
With only one clip, only the play button will show, and this will be using the second colour the selected colour? if that makes sense....
What you see when previewing the menu should be what you get on the disc.
If you wish to test the process choose to Create Disc Image or DVD Folder, saves creating coasters, play the files on the pc to check quality.

Re: Changing colours of navigation button in menu template
Thanks for the reply.
Have tried creating a Disc image file (to save creating coasters) and played that and it actually shows the play button icon in the colour that I choose for the test, so presumably when I burn a disc it will do the same. Am coming to the conclusion that the fact that the button changes to a colour other than the one chosen during preview must be some strange software glitch or artifact that I can ignore.
Will actually now put the play button icon to the colour I want in the finished product and burn a disc and see if at is OK.
Thanks for the help, I was not aware that I could save a disc image so have learnt something in the process.
Regards, Jeff
