Project videos are corrupt
I was working on a project with VideoStudioProX5 and saved it. Everything was good. The next time I opened up the project, it needed to relink some of the files. So I relinked the default way like it wanted to do. When editing the project I noticed that some of the video clips that I had in the project were now all distorted on the timeline. When clicking individually on the clips they played fine. But when you watch them as a project they are black and white and all distorted like the thumbnail is. So I thought ok I will just re-import them into the project, but it is the same way. I renamed the files and reimported them, same thing happened. I tried starting a new project and reimporting all the files. Same thing happens. What happened to my videos? I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on a 32 bit system.

Re: Project videos are corrupt
Unfortunately, we cannot see your project in the flesh, so you need to tell us more about it. Are all the video clips in it from the same source or are they a mixture from different sources? What were those sources? How were the clips captured? And importantly, what are their properties? To get the latter, right click on each different type, either in the timeline or in the library window and select Properties. Then either copy them here or take a screen shot and upload it here, please.
It also seems a little strange that you had to relink only some of them. Were those needed re-linking on an external drive of some kind? If so, then connecting another drive after you closed the project originally might have changed the drive letter assigned to the first drive... Or did you move any of the files to a new folder after closing the project?

Re: Project videos are corrupt
Hi , I have uploaded a copy of one of the properties of the vids. I have several different kinds of vids, and the mp4s work just fine. But for some reason this avi set is not working. Please look at the attachment and let me know what you can make out of it.
The files were all on the same drive that I keep all my pictures. I do not believe I moved any of them after I uploaded them into the project.
Thanks so much

Re: Project videos are corrupt
I have to confess that I have never heard of the the "mpeg43 DMO" codec before now. And unfortunately a fairly extensive Google search on it does not enlighten me much further apart from the fact that it is a Microsoft codec related to the "normal" mpeg-4 codec!
But it does indicate, at least, that it causes quite a few people not dissimilar problems to yours. The solution seems to be to disable that codec and use the ffdshow codec instead -- but I am afraid I cannot really help with how to do that. I have installed ffdshow on my computers for another reason as it is not part of the usual codecs installed as part of either Windows or Video Studio... Sorry.
I should add that the frame size given in your sample's properties is tiny, and would probably not blow up well in a larger format final video... Is there no alternative to that format?
