...And if you have indeed taken out all nested VSPs and substituted them with rendered videos, you might want to save the project under a new name. Then close VS, and optionally reboot your computer. Then reopen VS and open the new VSP. Does that change anything?

I have followed Kens advice, including a reboot, and then attempted to create a video file, it has been stuck at 99% now for 51 minutes. VS has been running(I checked via the task mamager.).VS would not minimize to allow me to post this. Now i find it is not responding and an attempt to write this post was frozen for a couple of minutes. So I am back to square one.

Did you add all the previously rendered video files all at once in your new project?
Do all the individual mpg files play fine by themselves?

What happens if you add the 1st mpg file and output to a new file? If ok, then add the 2nd in the same project and so on.

There are 2 very short files in question here, both at the start of the project and are only seconds long.I rendered them together and they play ok. As previously mentioned, these vsp files used with VS11+ before been have rendered ok in 11+and have not caused a problem.(On the same PC)

Hi
Just to fill in the gaps.........

After approaching Kenneth we eventually identified the culprit clip.

A Video Studio sample, I think from VS 11, "theatre curtains opening" Had been used as the ending to the project, wishing to have the curtains closing Ken use the Reverse Video option. No idea why this caused problems.

The 329 reference was a bit of a of a red herring, this was the number of frames used in the problem clip, Ken uses Pal, but the clip being a VS sample uses Ntsc/29.9fps at 11 seconds =329.
Simple really........

The sample was rendered to Dv-Avi, in reverse of course and added to the project

The project rendered successfully and as far as i know has been burnt to disc.

Yes, indeed, the project rendered and has been burnt to disc. But this would not have been possible without all your support Trevor, and I cant thank you enough for all the work you did sorting out the problem......................Ken

I Did register just to type in how to solve that...

simply copy ur video to ur hard drive. and dont edit it from ur usb flash memory or an external HDD

Data corrupt, happens when transferring from capture device or USB. If playing the file in a media player it might work with no problems, because its reading the extension. In video editors it reads audio and video separately. In most cases its audio.
A simple test, split delete audio, render.
To find frame 1345, right click on your clip>properties, what is the frame rate, most likely 30fps. dived fps into 1345, that will give you seconds. First you try deleting one or two seconds from the end, or delete 1 sec at the 44sec mark.
