Driver for capture card of Video Studio 10 Professional

Post by jerrysxw »

Hi everyone,

I lost my driver disc for the capture card of Video Studio 10 Professional. And I can't find it on COREL website, even in google.

Could anyone provide this for me?

Thank you very much!

Unless something has happened which went completely over my head, Corel does not make -- and has never made -- such a hardware capture device. It was probably made by someone else but is badged with VS 10 Pro because that would have been the software package bundled with the device. As such, it would be the hardware manufacturer which would have provided the card driver on an installation disc.

In any case, I note that you have Windows 7, and VS 10 will just not work with it. The first version which sort of worked with Win 7, and then only with a software update pastch, was VS 12/X2.

Can we assume that your computer does not "see" the card?

And is there anything else which might identify the hardware manufactuer...

Thanks for replying me:)

I bought this in China, so I guess maybe this card is only designed for China market.

But, it's really from official COREL vendor, not fake one...

Well, Corel has a major operation based in Taiwan, next door to China... but I too am unaware of them having an "official" presence in China, though it is of course possible.

But your mention of China *does* interest me, and I wonder if your card is associated somehow with the EzCap/Easy-Cap capture device debate, with of these devices being a cheap -- and problematic -- knock-of of the real device. Moreover, the knock-off comes specifically with Video Studio 10, whereas the real device comes with ArcSoft software... See http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 30#p211330 The devices in question are portable ones, rather than a fixed capture card, but Chinese efforts may be evolving...???

Hello Jerry,

Let me ask around and see if I can get an answer about the driver of the capture/GPU that you have.

From the Corel website:

"Corel’s headquarters are in Ottawa, Canada, with major offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Taiwan, China and Japan. "

I would assume that also means the products are sold in those countries.

FWIW, I havejust done a Google search for "Corel Video Studio 10 capture card" and "Corel capture card", but got nothing under either to suggest that Corel actually have their own branded capture card, even in China. The responses were either related to capturing video using various versions of VS, or else discussions in this forum or on You-Tube relating to capturing in VS using other capture cards and devices. So no joy there either.

I have never heard of Corel selling any kind of capture card. There may well be some capture card manufacturers that bundle a "limited" version of VS Studio with the card but that is a whole different can of worms.

Have you put it into your computer to see if it works? I know lots of old peripherals used to just not work unless you had the install disk, but now lots of stuff just work in more recent OS's. That is unless you're running a new 64 bit machine. If you do try to install the hardware and Windows 7 doesn't recognize it, you can use Belarc Advisor http://www.majorgeeks.com/Belarc_Advisor_d1385.html and see if it shows what the computer thinks it is. If that returns something then we have more to go on.
