Sorry Trevor missed your request to test something from Library. Followed advice to letter and..............
Still no video in window, just black screen.(project sits underneath but not in big display window)
Still no active jog wheel.
Still got next tab on wrong side of window with only half N visible and obliterating jog wheel.
Proof positive that it's prog and not my project I think.
This is obviously the dreaded disappearing Next phenomenon which you previously described so I assume other folks have found a workaround.
Thanks

If you are using Windows 7 and VS X2, you may want to use the Windows 7 Program Compatibility, you can follow the steps for Windows 7 Program Compatibility from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... of-Windows

Hi
Thanks Abeil, I mentioned compatibility earlier but did not tell Longshanks to try it.
Right click the VS icon on desktop and select properties, choose Compatibility tab. XP
To screen capture I use Alt+PtrSc, this copies the active window to your clipboard.
Using an image editor Paste this to a new image, save image then attach to your post.
Attachment at bottom of post.
You may have to admit that it is a W7-- X2 problem that's not going away?
Try manually updating Direct X
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=8109
I know this has cured some issues that the auto updates do not address.
Download
Run to extract files, save to a folder on desktop, there are lots of files.
Run DXSETUP.exe
I did find another reference to Direct X and W7

Ok tried every conceivable species of Vista (SP 1, 2..) in compatibility mode and still on the launching pad.
Manually installed Direct X and no change.
Time to surrender but thanks for your help and patience.
How very bizarre.
