It takes so long to burn a 2 hour movie????

It took me 5 hours to burn a 2 hour movie. It took like 4 hours to convert to dvd files, and another 1 hour to burn to a disc. Also when I played it on my tv, I part of the side on the left side was cut off, it didnt fit my screen.

That would be excellent time for a P-III 400 machine with a Pioneer A03 burning at 1x speed...

Now we just need to know a few things about your setup :)

A few things to start with:
1) what are your computer specs?
2) what type of videos are your source videos?
3) which version of DVD Workshop are your running? 1.x, 2.x, Full, Express, SE, Trial, etc...

p.s. the "cutoff" on the left side is probably "overscan" -- basically, you need to account for about 10% around the edges of what you see on your computer screen NOT being viewable on a TV (the overscan percentage can vary by TV)

Great start, what sort of real estate do you have on your PC? HDD's, their speed, size, file system, free space left etc.

How did you extract the video from your DVD (I assume it's yours, not a bought DVD) and what were the project settings? What settings did you use to burn it back to DVD? Did you alter (edit) the video, added content, transitions, sound etc?
