color in something
I did this a little while ago as practice, then went back to do it again to do it for the final photo, but now can't remember how. I think it was done in "layers". I want to change the photo to black and white, then color back in the chairs only, to their original blue color. Apparently my memory isn't as good as it used to be. Thanks for any help.

1) Duplicate the original image onto it's own layer. You can use the "Duplicate" method from the layers menu or by right-clicking on the background layer and selecting "Duplicate" from the context menu.
2) Run the Black & White photo effect from the "Effects" menu to make this new layer a black and white image.
3) Use the eraser tool to erase portions of the top layer that you don't want to keep. The colored layer on the bottom will show through making it look colored.
Alternatively, you can create a layer mask on top of the black and white layer and color it with Black to erase portions and color it in white to bring portions back. Masks don't actually delete things, and you can redo the mask as often as you'd like.
