Error Installing Corel Video Studio X5 Trial

I had already used some of the stock images (notably i11 and i13) in a couple of projects done on this 64 bit system, and with no problems and certainly no request for a relink. Just to check, I just set up a new project in X5 using stock images, again with no problem. And the properties of each image shows it to be located in "c:\program files (x86)\corel\corel videos". Moreover, I have so far never used XP compatibility on this computer for any purpose...

Hello here,

please allow me, to hitchhike to the thread.
I do have problemss to get the X5 trial installed on an totaly
Network connection free machine.
My wife runs a computer with differrent programms on it,
that is an absolut "Stand alone" Unit. It has no network, nor
internet connections, and is used ONLY for Sound- ,
graphics- , and Video works!
So far it was no problem to install Products from other namely
Software and Hardware (Cameras-manufact.) producers, and make
dem Work on that "ISLAND".
Just and ONLY Corel Video Studio X5 is giving as the only one the
error, that due to Security Guidelines, i hope that is its meaning in
english, because i get it thrown in german, install is unable to complete.
Contact administrator to solve the problem.
Honestly, i am the admin here, and i have no intensions, what
soever, to get this machine connected somehow, to the net.
My wife now happyly works since 6 Years without malware and
Viruses on that thing, so there will be no changes .

Does someone know, what exactly those COREL People are
expecting to do the installation ?
I sure will register after installation, either with my machine,
or the laptop of my wife.

Sorry to hear you are having problems installing the X5 trial version

Can you try the following two options........

1-- Clean-up the temporary files folder

How to remove Temp files from Windows to resolve multiple software and system issues

For Windows 7 search for %temp%

Try to install the program using admin rights.

2 --- On the laptop---Create a new (temporary) user account giving it admin rights.
Try to install from this account.
If successful you should be able to remove the temporary account.
