Entirely up to you - many of the mods/admins have a number of previous version still on our computers so we can check back and help users of earlier versions - there is no problem with having more than one version installed.
If you are 100% happy with X5 and can do every thing in it then you could unistall VS11 - it's up to you really.

Hi Kenneth
Same as Brian’s reply.....You help out with questions on the forum, you may find VS11 useful just as reference.
If you have a problem with Disc space then that may be a factor in removing the program.
Ulead Video Studio used common files to run the program, un-installing older versions could affect the newer versions, however i do not think that is an issue with VS11 and the Corel product X5.

Thanks for the replies, the reason for asking was the following post:- Cant "open with" VS Pro X5 Ultimate" http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 78#p251278
Disc space is not an issue, but having VS11+ as well results in the above issue.

Re: Keep VS 11+ when using X5
Hi Kenneth
Yes I understand the problem with file associations and certainly learned something from that post.
There is an issue with file associations and Video Studio, I cannot associate any video files (Mpeg) with any of my Video Studio versions, until that post I wasn't aware it was possible, for me it does not work, my computer just doesn't give me the options.
Having said that It is not a problem for me as I always start video studio from my start menu, then I insert the video to the timeline by using Right click, if I wish to open a project I do it from within Video Studio--File Open Project
But inserting the video files from within Video Studio should work for you.
If you feel this is an issue for you then un-install VS11.
Be aware that you may also have to re-install X5 to set the file associations, then again you may not.
