Hey guys i have a question.
I´m editing some Gopro hero2 videos and everything´s fine except for one thing. The original videos have something like 49000 on the Video Rate but when i create my own video i can only put 20000 so i end up losing some quality.
here´s what i´m using:
MPEG-4
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 30 fps
MAIN H.264: 20000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 bits, Estéreo
Áudio MPEG AAC: 128 Kbps
If i try to put more than 20000 i get an error message and if i try to use the "same as first video" setting, it crashes.
what should i do?

Re: Exporting GOPRO videos
Unfortunately, VS is still limited to a maximum bitrate of 20000 kbps for AVCHD/mpeg-4 HD videos -- despite an increase in the international standard for such video to 28000 kbps.
The only thing I can think to suggest is to make a template using one of the original GoPro videos as the target. Go into Settings > Make Movie Template Manager. In the dialogue box which appears, click on the Add button down at the bottom. Another dialogue box will appear. The first little window in it is labelled 'File Path'. Click the "..." button beside it and navigate to where one of your original GoPro files is stored and select it. Then in the next window down, give the new template a name e.g. GoPro. Then click OK to get out of that box and Close to get out of the first box. Now select Share > Create Video File, and in the drop down menu which appears, your new template "GoPro" should appear down at the bottom. Select that and hopefully it should work.
Note that you cannot edit a template made this way. If you try, it will revert to basic DVD properties and you will have to start all over again, creating a new template.

Hi
There was a problem with X4, dont know if it was fixed for X5 but would have thought so.
What version are you using?
000011069 - Problem with VideoStudio Pro X4 and GoPro HD (.mp4) files

Re: Exporting GOPRO videos
I wonder if the template approach will be OK for GoPro files. I don't think so, unless they are high bitrate MPEG2 files. because for my TM700 1080p50/28Mbps files it doesn't seem to work: I get stops all the time, just like I reported some time ago with the "same as first file" selection. I get perfect playback with the original 1080p50/28Mbps files.
Re: Exporting GOPRO videos

I'm not sure what the 49Mbps rate actually represents, but when I use MediaInfo to view the specs on a Hero2 clip, it says that the constant bitrate is 15Mbps and the nominal bitrate is 49Mbps. When I play back the clip in a player and turn on the Info button, the info shows the playback bitrate as 15Mbps. I don't have a GoPro to do any further testing. I'm suspicious of the 49Mbps number.
