DVDMF7 shows error message «Failed to burn»

Post by Teotihuacan »

Hello everyone!

I can not finish my last project with weird failure.

After i press «Burn» button (i am making bluray folders, not using direct writing to disc), everything wents well till the time there should happen video-audio multiplexing aka final stage.
At this moment MovieFactory shows error message "Failed to burn." and everything stops like before starting converting video title.
I should tell that 2 and a half an hour of video converting is going without any problems, and after error i can find temporary file (~22gb) in working folder.

If i try again start "Burning" program takes this temporary file as ready video file, then builds menu transitions and again fails trying to start multiplexing.
Here is an example what i see:

I checked log-file that is in folder Corel DVD MovieFactory/7.0/DMF_TEMP/BURN_TEMP
All failed attempts show this:

Code: Select all

Prepare check other folder state, whether exist or not

Enter check other folder : G:\BD\CERTIFICATE\ can be deleted function

Check other folder state finished.

ULUS engine error : 5116
while the successful attempt (early one project) ends with:

Code: Select all

Prepare check other folder state, whether exist or not

Enter check other folder : G:\BD\CERTIFICATE\ can be deleted function

Check other folder state finished.

output disc image/folder ok
Project contains 199 chapters, but as i understood this is a correct number.
Also i tried to reinstall all the components i have, but with no luck.

Any suggestions? :(

I could be wrong, but I thought you were only allowed a maximum of 99 chapters, not 199...

As i remember, 99 is a maximum for DVD.
And my previous project contained near 160 chapters, but burning ended successfully.

Next time i will try to reduce chapter amount once more, maybe this is the real reason of failure.

No, its not. Same percentage, same error.

Looks like there is something wrong with project itself, i deleted most of video clips and tried to burn first 3 minutes (then last 3 minutes). Added new effects, repositioned chapters and subtitles. Same issue.

My next try is to do burning in two steps:
1) export video with effects, subtitles as a stand-alone file with maximum possible quality,
2) open it again (in blank new project), add chapters and build new menu, and then burn it like it should have.

Video quality will be a little worse, but i hope it finally ends successfully.

The maximums for a standard DVD; 99 Titles and 99 chapters per title.

In theory then you could have 9801 chapters on a DVD

I have a fairly extensive Google search on the chapters question, but have turned up nothing useful, even in the often helpful Wikipedia... The only specific reference I found was to another program which imposes its own limit of 96 chapters per title for Blu-Ray. So I have asked Corel if they can supply an answer. I will let you know if I get a response.
