Straighten Tool Not Working

Post by jpmccormac »

Today I found that when I use the Straighten tool the image blanks out and turns black and the thumbnail also turns a solid blue or black. Is this a problem with the cache or what?

All file types or only specific ones?
Any other spatial transformations active?

The problem only occurs when working with RAW files; JPEGs are not affected. There are no other spatial transformations active. The problem happens with several types of RAW files - Canon and Panasonic, but not with Olympus RAW files. Go figure.

Fixed With Cache Replacement

Post by jpmccormac »

I had a copy of my original /CACHE files in a backup folder. I wrote them over the current cache files and the Tool is working now.

Hmm,
rather than installing a backup cache, I'd just nuke it.
After all, you don't know where the mess started and there might be some ugliness hidden in there.

I tried nuking the cache but that didn't have any effect. Oh well, it's back to normal now. :D

I'm having the same problem, but with JPGs as well. How do I replace or nuke the cache?

There is a directory named cache in your AS user folder. Just delete it.
