Hello DF,
I reported this to one of the PSP Product Manager and it appears that the problem is with the tiff that you created, because they use Photomatix and created their own TIFF file and they cannot recreate the problem but when they downloaded the TIF that you posted in your posts they are experiencing the same problem. So they're asking for "what is the exact steps or settings that you are using when saving the tiff file on photomatix?" this at least will allow them to create the same file with similar properties that is causing you the problem.
Thanks!
Hi Abiel,
I simply plug the Canon RAW files from one of my cameras (Canon T3i, 40D, XTi) into Photomatix. For this particular shot I have Photomatix align images, reduce chromatic aberations, reduce ghost images (wind blows the trees around), reduce noise on normal and underexposed images. I've tried creating it with sRGB, Adobe RGB and ProPhoto RGB and they all do the same thing. In Tonemapping I usually use a preset that's pretty close to the default, lower on strength and higher on saturation, but default does the same thing (I just double checked to be sure). Click Process, Save As 8 bit Tiff or 16 bit Tiff both have the same issue. Save As a jpeg and it's useable, but I rather prefer the Tiff as I do a lot more processing to the image.
Interesting to note the Exif data in X4 is missing the Digitized Subsecond value in X4, but not X3. The Jpeg from Photomatix is missing most of the Exif info when viewed in both X3 and X4. The size on disk with X3 is the same as the size in RAM for the image, but with X4 the size in RAM is significantly smaller.
The RAW .CR2 files can be downloaded from
https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=ee069be3 ... 8EF7E!1399 (note that the first file is the first tiff file I provided at the beginning of this thread)
Thanks for looking into this.
PS: this isn't a problem with RAW files from my Canon 1D.
