VS X5 & Boris graffiti

Hi guys I getting very frustrated with this!
I have VS4pro ultimate installed with Boris graffiti 5.3.6.1517 seems to be working fine!
I also have VS5pro ultimate installed with Boris graffiti 5.4.0.1525 & as soon as I hit the customise filter button I get error message

so in VS5 pro ultimate is Boris graffiti a demo version?? this is not what I understood!

I only have the one version of Boris that came with X5 and had a similar issue with graffiti requesting purchase.

This occurred after re-installing X5. for some reason the free version was no longer recognised by video studio.

Un-installing and re-installing Boris graffiti 5.4 cured the problem.

You will be given the option to repair, dont bother this does not cure the problem, at least not for me.

I did not receive any error messages.........

You may want to remove all copies of Boris graffiti then install the one that came with VS X5 Ultimate version.

I removed Boris graffiti throught windows Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features I then reinstalled it with the second disc for VS5
Now i have Boris graffiti in VS5 but not in VS4?
It does show in the FX group but when i drag it to a clip in the timeline it does not show in the customize filter box?

Hi

In this folder --- C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X5\vft_plug there are some files.

proDADMercalli20Corel4.vft
proDADRoute40Corel4.vft
proDADVitascene20Corel4.vft

Copy these to the X4 folder--C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X4\vft_plug

You should then be able to see the filters when using X4.
If you do not see them then you may need to reset the workstation to its default state?

I dont know why the filter does not show as customisable, try this.
Start a new project
Add the first sample P01 from the library to timeline.
click FX then choose Boris FX---the bar below the preview screen will auto scrub to the right.
Now drag the filter to the clip.
A small icon will show on the clip -top left- do you see that?
Click the Options button to open the panel.
Do you see the filter?

Ive just had a e-mail from Corel about this & was told to reinstall Boris Graffiti 5.3 reinstall it from the download link or disk 2 of VideoStudio Pro X4
VS4 pro ultimate has one disc? Any idea where the download link is??

I have X5 and Graffiti5.4 installed, copied the files to X4 as described earlier

Both programs work ok with the filter, however i am using Windows XP.

I will test the filter on the laptop running W7 and let you know if I have problems.

I do not know about the X4 downloads for graffiti.
I do not have X4 Ultimate only the basic version.

If you purchased X4 by disc there should be a second bonus disc, at least there was for X5.

How did you initially install Boris graffiti 5.3 for X4 (as your first post indicates)

I assume you can only install one version of graffiti on your PC, either 5.3 or 5.4.
Unfortunately I only have one version so cannot test this out.

I only have X4 Ultimate and X5 Ultimate installed on one computer. But each accesses a different version of Boris -- 5.3 and 5.4 respectively. And each has a different coloured interface into the bargain!

I had a similar issue where VSX5 Boris refused to run on the PC where it was already installed and working on VSX4 Ultimate.
I tried the repair option from the VSX5 disk 2 and it did nothing. I then selected the Remove option from the Disk 2 and something was uninstalled.
Boris as still in VSX4 working.
I then tried a re-install from the X5 disk 2 and it worked showing the Boris 5.4 in X5 and the Boris 4 version in VSX4.

My version VideoStudio X4 pro ultimate has one disc! & not like Corel suggested!
I found the Boris install section but it will not repair the problem, I tried to modify the install but that did not work so I uninstalled it reinstalled it and it worked!
Only problem is I now have a trial version of Boris Graffiti 5.4 in VideoStudio X5 pro ultimate! so back to square one!
I feel like I'm on the magic roundabout but without the magic! LOL

Just tried it like that and all seems well!

Fingers crossed for the next 15days & hope the Boris 5.4 in VS5 does not revert into a trial again? LOL
