Lens calibration dependent on camera?

Until recently I was a canon user but now I've opted for the Sony A77. The lens calibration list for canon was clean and alphabetical and included my Tamron 18-270mm. When I moved to the A77 the list is different and seems a lot more messy including lenses mixed up in non-alphabetical order. Also my 18-270mm is not on the list any more.

My question is, does lens calibration depend on the mount you are using? Or can I just take the calibration on the canon list and use it for my sony?

It depends on crop factor. A lower crop factor can be used to calculate the data for a higher crop factor but not the other way round.

So in other words since my Sony has a crop factor of 1.5 I can use all calibrations in the nikon list?

It seems to be a bit of strange system. Shouldn't there just be few lists depending on the crop factor. Lets say FF, 1.5 and 1.6 (and whatever there might be). Wouldn't this save some people some hassle?
