Program will not allow links in menu

Post by stephaniezara »

My brother and I both have DVD Workshop 2. it works fine for me with no trouble but he is having a problem creating menus.
When in MENU and with the title list active at the bottom of the screen he tries to drag a video onto the menu. For me this creates a button of the first video frame and links it to the video. For him it gives him a "you cant do this" cursor.
Now I believe he said it allows him to create the links with the PAL sample video but not with NTSC. I had him make sure the project was set to use NTSC and it is.
it also won't allow him to create a link by dragging a video from the title list onto an exsisting object like a bullet.
He is too busy to post here so I am asking for help for him. Any advice I can pass along? :?:

Should he not be dragging from the chapter list on the right of the screen. If the clip he wants isn't there, he can drag it there by finding it on the small window bottom-right.

I am very new at this and was wondering if anyone can help. I can't get the clips to work under menus. I can get motion menu buttons by dragging them over the menu buttons. But I can't get any clips to actually get added to the menus. My dvd consist of a menu that has my video as motion menu button but leads no where. Please help. I try and drag clips over to the right side of the screen where the add clips part is but it gives me the circle with a slash through it. Have no idea where to go from here. :x

1. You don't need to drag "motion buttons" over other ones. Highlight a button in Menu and you can choose whether it is motion or not by selecting the check box under the Style tab.

2. Each title/chapter (selectable at bottom right) appears in the column to the right of the screen. Just drag it to the button where you want it.

RFM pp 81 to 94 for more detailed explanation: it's there for that :)
