I have the following problem:
I batch output images to a 16-bit TIFF file (proPhoto RGB imbedded) and let it open by TOPAZ photoFXlab for further editing. All works fine in TOPAZ, but after closing it and applying the changes, the TIFF file is no longer recognized by AfterShot Pro.
1. This problem did not occur with TOPAZ Fusion before, so it could be a problem of TOPAZ...
2. on the other hand, the TIFF files are recognized and opened by PS or Corel PaintShop Pro, which would suggest that it is a problem of AfterShot
Does anyone have seen similar problems? Any way to solve it? (my trials with different color profiles or 8-bit TIFFs did not help)

What size is the Tiff after processing (in MP, not MB)?

TOPAZ photoFXlab does work with layers and masks, but even if I apply only a simple effect, without masking anything, the image is no longer recognized by ASP. Besides, the same happens with simple JPEGS (sRGB) - they dont show up in ASP after coming out of TOPAZ photoFXlab - so I guess alpha channels cannot be the (only) problem.
The size (MP) is the same as before - no change there!

Can you compare the "exiftool -g0 -D" output for a TIFF directly from AS vs. one that was processed by Topaz?

Yes, the TIF created by ASP can be opened by ASP!
Here the changes I noticed after running exiftool:
- photoFXlab added more Infos (like: 254 Subfile Type : Full-resolution Image)
- looks like an alpha channel is added (new version: samples per pixel = 4)
- new: (338 Extra Samples : Unassociated Alpha)
- the new file is compressed
- new: the "F number" is changed!!!!! from 3.5 to 5 (how is that possible?)
but if the alpha channel is the problem, why do I have the same trouble with JPEGS? I thought they cannot have alpha channels...

lol, with the jpeg that's a case for it's own!!!!
