Cannot seem to find the thread where this was being discuss, but I'm not finding a use for Adjust mode. Maybe should give in more of a chance? Suggestions?
As for Manage mode, this would be a GOOD space if it had a configurable TOOL BAR, and there needs to be MORE context menu functions. Also.. many times I need to see what the SIZE (in pixels) and the DATE of the image is in a hurry. Trying to get this info from the thumbnails is awful. A tiny pop-up apears with maybe 4 or 5 useless properties. As for the INFO pallet, I cannot see the DATE of the file without dragging the width of the pallet far across to the left, obscuring too much real estate. This is a bad feature. In the NAVIGATE pallet, on the Computer tab, it's not possible to Create a New Folder.. only in the Collections tab.
Also there's a bug in general. When dragging files onto subfolder (to move) in routine management of files, the subfolder will roll-up, requiring an extra mouse-click to open it back up. I think it's not possible to see WHAT FOLDER your images are in without rolling out the Nav Pallet. Is there a way to display the full path in the title bar? This is necessary when working with images from many folders, and knowing which folder to export a PNG or JPG to.
Then there's the lack of positioning Manage on another monitor, etc. which is beyond the scope of this topic.

Re: Usefullness of Manage & Adjust modes
I guess "useful" varies from one person to another. Personally, I don't find the Manage and Adjust modes to be useful at all, and I wish there was a way to completely disable them.
Just my 2¢.

Re: Usefullness of Manage & Adjust modes
Considering that the adjust mode has only some of the elements of the edit mode and these being watered down why not go to the Edit mode directly and have all of the features together. Seems that they have tried to put The manage features of lightroom, the simplified elements of Photoshop Elements and the full features of Photoshop in one humedous program.
I wonder what it would be like if they had a reduded Edit mode only version of PSP X4 - No manage, no adjust . How fast would it load, how fast would the processing be, and how much RAM memory would it save. I would definitely sign up for that.

Re: Usefullness of Manage & Adjust modes
I set PSPX4 (PaintShop Pro 14) to always start in the edit mode, personally, and I don't think I've ever used Manage or Adjust modes for anything; but I have noticed that each user uses their software differently.
I prefer a work environment similar to when I used Jasc PSP and am typically not on the migration learning curve (to which the Manage and Adjust modes are apparently targeted). Working with other users, I have noticed that everyone prefers a different mode apparrati.
Even though I agree with you that Manage and Adjust modes are completely useless, other adopters may not agree...
It wouldn't hurt my feelings to lose these relatively useless features and instead focus on the big issues with the software...
