PSP14, SP2 security message

Post by edwinn »

This started to happen after the installation of SP2 in the past week. That is to say.. I installed SP2 in the past week and the problem started about that time. Usually I export images as PNG, and export LARGE images to JPG for upload via FTP to post in discussion boards such as this one (see IMG below.) Now.. in the past week, there seems to be a problem viewing (or opening) uploaded PNGs in IE browser.

Here is the message:

Image

It means that I cannot open the files in the browser and think it has to do with how SP2 may or may not have re-associated file types in Win Xp.... with an exception!! It depends on what URL gets pasted into the browser command line. Let's try it.

This link WONT WORK: http://home.comcast.net/~edwinn/PNG_Sec ... arning.png

but this link WILL work: home.comcast.net/~edwinn/PNG_Security_Warning.png

Where or what can I edit to correct or curtail the browser pop-up warning in IE? Already tried the usual "associations" on File Explorer and in PSP14 Prefences. PLEASE HELP RESOLVE, it's really a pain!

For me both those URLs work. The first by direct click on the link, the second by copy and paste into Internet Explorer address bar. Both produce the image you had above.

No matter where the image file is from, to fix and remove the message that you are getting, you just need to set PSP X4 as your default image viewer and editing software.

Here's a quick steps on how to do that.
