ASP has stopped Working (Preview Imports)

I was importing a new catalog and ASP would get the "ASP Has Stopped Working" warning and shut down after completing about 1K pics (of 29K pics total). I thought it was the catalog situation and tried all the "catalog" fixes I know and no joy. Well it finally completed the catalog after many restarts but still had thousands of pics to go on the previews and it still bombing after roughly 1.1K pics. When I restart ASP it picks up right where it left off and starts importing again. I ocassionally get a out of memory error. but mostly just the ASP has stopped working....
