VS11 -Problem with make video file

Post by Royde »

I have been using VS11 for 5 years so are quite conversant with the programme and have made many movies. But of late I'am experiencing the following problem;

1 - Create Video File, The format changes to 4x3 but the "project settings" are set to 16x9. Have set the save file to "as project Settings. I have also tried all the create video file optional settings and checked that each are set to 16x9 but all produce 4x3?

2 - I tried to repair the programme via "add Remove Programmes" but this produced a windows error 1620 error message, this I have tried to correct without success.

3 - Thought it would be best to reinstall the VideoStudio programme but am worried that I would loose all my library files?

Any help with this will be gratefully received.

You can uninstall and reinstall without losing your settings if you follow the screen prompts properly and leave the settings in.
How does the video look? Stretched or squished? What player? It may just be missing a 16:9 flag.

What version of Winwodws OS are you using on your PC? Please do keep in mind that VS 11 is not compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Thank you both very much for your speedy response.

All my video is captured in 16x9 aspect ratio MPEG-2 Video. I'am still running Windows XP. Project settings are set to this format also. Have made many movies lately without any problem and nothing has been changed on the computer.

I have just made the following workaround and achieved a 16x9 video file so it would seem to confirm a glitch in the software?
CHANGE PROJECT SETTINGS TO 4x3 - MAKE VIDEO FILE AS PROJECT SETTINGS - ABORT MAKING FILE - CHANGE PROJECT SETTINGS TO 16x9 - MAKE VIDEO FILE AS PROJECT SETTINGS - VIDEO FILE NOW OK 16x9 :D

I still would like to unistall/reinstall Videostudio, but do not want to loose all the library and settings :cry: :?:
