Video preview is often choppy and uneditable even with proxy
I have been making a video slideshow mostly with pics which VS has had no problem with, but now that I've started to add video I notice that the preview gets so choppy that I don't even know what my edits look like. I end up having to restart the program but that only makes it good for about 3-4 previews. I have smart proxy turned on. But I don't know why I should have to since I have a 3.33 GHz hexacore, two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 video cards, and 24 GB of RAM, running windows 7 Pro. This thing is a beast and I can run Adobe Premiere and After Effects without a hiccup AND have lightroom and photoshop running in the background. VS doesn't work right even when it's the only program running. Am I doing something wrong? I can't imagine that this issue is this pronounced for all users since it pretty much makes the software unusable for video editing.
