Q: i5-3570K or FX-8120 for new PC

Hi,
I am trying to decide which Processor to buy for a new PC. As it has to be reasonable priced, I have narrowed down the choices to

* FX-8120 (8× 3100 MHz) and
* i5-3570k (4× 3400 MHz)

Performance-wise these should be generally similar, but I'd like to know if the 8 cores of the FX-8120 make a notable difference when using ASP. Energy-wise the intel seems to be the more ecological choice...
