This is one great little tool..

Post by motionarian »

Hi, first post here.

Just got MotionStudio 3D recently and I must say it's a dandy little tool.
At first glance it doesn't seem like there's that much there, but dig around a bit and
it's surprising just how far reaching the program is.I particularly like the fact that it
works in conjunction with VideoStudio X5. I do have Sony Vegas Pro11 which has
extensive NuBlue affects, but Motion3D does a lot of the same things with quick presets.
I still have a ways to go to get a solid handle of all its funcions.

Thanks.
Rich

Welcome to the forums! And glad you like the program. A number of us here have been using its predecessors -- Cool 3D and Cool 3D Production Studio, and always liked the professional titles and other effects they produced -- though they were very slow in rendering. They were also not updated for years. But luckily a Corel exec took an interest in reviving them and adding some improvements, and MS 3D is the result. Apart from anything else, its rendering times have greatly increased, and this makes it a valuable tool if for no other reason than this...

Hi Ken,
Do you think there is any chance Corel might provide some kind of Help file either as part of an upgrade, or a downloadable PDF for the benfit of those of us not that familiar with this type of program to help us along with more advanced features like Lathing, with its neat bezier-like function, etc.? I know there are Youtube turoials which are ok, but I also like to have more detailed printout instructions on hand for quick reference.
Thanks.
Rich.

While its not a PDF file, there is a relatively extensive Help document for MS3D which can be launched from the Learn screen when you click on the icon up in the top right of screen made up of an orange circle of dots with an arrow inside. The Help appears in a browser as a htm file. Or you can go straight to http://product.corel.com/help/MotionStu ... wwhelp.htm

All my programs are on an offline computer and when I tried the far right button a few days ago, it came up with a Vimeo and other stuff. I assumed you had to be online to access this feature. However by clicking the button you suggested, sure enough it activated the Help files without going online. These files seem quite good and will help to move things along.
Thanks again for the help.
Rich.

What "far right" button are you referring to?

Seems there are two ways to access Help files:
At startup there is an additonal splash screen "Corel Guide" that has four tabs. The second tab is "Learn".
Click that one and another screen comes up with two buttons--Vimeo and Question Mark. select the latter
to activate Help files. Second, anytime your using Mo3d, select the small orange icon in the upper far right
corner of the main interface and the same two button options are available-- again select question mark button.
Hope that helps.
