Re: NEW Version 1.1.0.7 ???
There has been talk about a new update soon; It might be that one. I think the reason it is known by the Monkey, is so that Beta testers can report errors.
The new version will mostly contain new and updated camera profiles, I believe.

Does anyone have a clue when the new version could be due?
Or would we still "not want to touch it"?

Same old same old - and just what we've come to expect: they've got our money, we don't matter any more.

Re: NEW Version 1.1.0.7 ???
Rather pessimistic there, I would say. A year ago, I would agree. Since then we have gotten Bibble 5.2.3 which fixed the stability issues, ASP 1.0 which threw out the dodgy internal engine, 1.0.1 which fixed HR and a number of other bugs. Since afx indicates that the internal version was in alpha quality, it tells me that the next version will fix more bugs in addition adding new cameras.KeithR wrote:Same old same old - and just what we've come to expect: they've got our money, we don't matter any more.
I am expecting the next update in a month or two.

Re: NEW Version 1.1.0.7 ???
As a very long time Corel user I feel the need to say a few words,
In Corel speak 1.1.0.7 is NOT a new version - it is simply another upgrade patch to version 1. In Corels other products like VideoStudio and Paintshop we always refer to these updates as service packs - so when we discuss a product we will say VideosStudio X5 SP2 - denoting that two patches have been applied to Version X5. In Corel speak these patches do not provide any enhancements to the programme but will add functionality - such as recognition for different cameras or correct errors in the original programme.
If and when Corel do release a new version it will almost certainly be called Version 2 and it's product ID will be something like 2.0.#.#.
And the bad news - *IF* a new version is released you will have to pay for it and if past practises are maintained then there will be no more patches for version 1 after that.

Well, if the problems in Keith's list are addressed in the new "service pack" (above all: demosaicing), I will be glad enough (at least for a while; I know myself

But it didn't - that's my point!tomsi42 wrote: 1.0.1 which fixed HR and a number of other bugs.
We're told that this thing or that thing has been fixed, and we still see the same problems. So no, I'm not being pessimistic, I'm pointing out exactly what I'm seeing with my own eyes, and it's exactly the situation we were in with Bibble - warm words, bland assurances, unfulfilled promises and disappointing outcomes.
For example, this is what I'm getting from ASP's "fixed" HR recovery:

"Pessimistic"? I think some of us deserve a medal for the number of times we've given Bibble/ASP yet another chance in the - invariably vain - hope that there's something to be optimistic about.
Much of what we're seeing today was known in Bibble years ago: what possible basis is there for optimism now, given how long we've waited so far?
They need to thank their lucky stars they're not a UK-based company: I would have taken them to court by now for misrepresentation, false advertising and knowingly selling a product that's demonstrably not fit for purpose.

Re: NEW Version 1.1.0.7 ???
That looks like what I got with Bibble 5; HR in ASP does not look like that at all. But I shoot mostly with Olympus and Panasonic bodies.KeithR wrote: For example, this is what I'm getting from ASP's "fixed" HR recovery:
My point was that there was more or less no progress in 2010/2011; and that there have been vast improvements in the software since Christmas. At least it is for me. And looking at the number of complains on this site; it's probably an improvement for most users. I am not saying it's perfect, but the wind has changed and the software is progressing again.KeithR wrote: "Pessimistic"? Re: NEW Version 1.1.0.7 ???
For me HR works too now (with Olympus files), extracting about as many details from blown-out areas as Lightroom (and a bit more than Capture One). The only caveat I see is that the recovered parts look a bit "flat". But that's a minor point (at least for me).
